I'm Always Glad to Answer Your Questions
Some of the people I meet and who, many times, become my clients, start out with no idea of what coaching or Reiki are. And even after they become my clients they are still full of surprising and thoughtful questions. I love the challenge of answering them in the best way I can. And I love feeling helpful, so here are some of the questions I get most often. If you have more, I'd be glad to answer them in email or a chat!

Life coaching is a process where a coach supports a client to make a change, learn something new or achieve goals. This process happens through conversation, and can take place face-to-face, over the phone, or online.
The ultimate aim is to help the client make progress in a certain area of their life, thier work or to overcome a problem they’re struggling with.
A life coach is a trained professional who aims to help and guide clients to set, meet and exceed personal and professional goals. They support clients on a journey to rediscover their own strengths: this can include excelling in the workplace, becoming happy and fulfilled at home, exploring one's potential, managing health conditions and achieving life ambitions. By harnessing techniques based on core psychological principles and intuition, coaches empower clients and provide a toolkit of teachings for them to confidently face challenges and overcome barriers.
Working with a life coach and dedicating time and space to personal development, regardless of your aims, helps improve confidence and a sense of self-worth.
If you’re feeling lost or unsure about something, coaching can provide clarity, direction and focus. If you’re struggling to make a change, coaching can help raise your self-awareness and both understand and change certain behaviours. If you’re finding it difficult to motivate yourself and make things happen in your life or work, coaching can offer accountability and help you define your purpose. And finally if you simply need to learn a new skill (from sports to building emotional resilience) coaching can help accelerate your learning.
Coaching relies on the client's commitment to the process and an open, honest relationship with the coach. With a focus of forward progression, unlocking potential and achieving goals, it’s no surprise that many people call coaching ‘life changing’.
Coaching sessions will typically last between 45 minutes and 90 (depending on the coach you choose). After an initial assessment, sessions can be conducted face-to-face or remotely (via video calls).
Although a coach will work with you, it’s often up to you to challenge or reflect upon certain ideas you have, to help you move forward with your life. You will never be forced to make any decisions you don't feel comfortable with and all sessions will be confidential, allowing you to explore your thoughts and feelings privately in a safe space.
Coaching is often seen as a partnership. A coach won’t tell you what to do, instead, they will use questioning techniques to help you uncover the answers yourself. They'll also provide an objective and empowering environment for you to explore any challenges you're facing. At the heart of it all lies the idea that clients must be given the power to help themselves.
You can have as many or as few coaching sessions as you like. Because many coaches now work online, the sessions can easily fit around your schedule.
After a pre-coaching free session in which we go together through a variety of questions, I usually come back to my clients with a suggested program and an estimated number of sessions needed.
I usually meet my clients once a week. Through years of experience and testing of different time frames, I've found that this frequency yields the greatest returns in terms of change. Meeting once a week offers the client sufficients time for reflection and application of learning between sessions, while maintaining the momentum of our work together.
In order to make coaching as convenient as possible for you, I offer several options. Coaching sessions can be conducted in person at your home, on-site for corporate engagements, or online, on a variety of social media platforms (Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Google Meet, Skype, Zoom, etc.) for remote clients and busy executives.
For organisations, coaching is a long-term investment in higher business performance. It is the most cost-effective way of getting higher performance from teams. Coaching is evidence of the company’s commitment to developing its people and contributes to a supportive organisational culture. Coaching retains key employees and avoids the cost of retraining, the loss of company knowledge to competitors and the drop in productivity when people leave.
